Antonio Ocaranza Fernández has an extensive career that combines corporate communications, public affairs, and international relations in both the public and private sectors in Mexico and North America. He holds a degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México and a Master 's in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

His professional career began in the public sector as Director of International Information in the Office of the Presidency, where he served as spokesperson for international media for President Ernesto Zedillo. During the negotiations of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), he was Press Attaché at the Embassy of Mexico in the United States and later Press Counselor at the Embassy in Canada.

In the private sector, he served as Corporate Communications Director at Walmart Mexico and Central America, and as Director of Institutional Relations and Communications at Vitro. In these roles, he was involved in divestment processes for companies such as Plásticos Bosco, Crisa, Vips, Suburbia, and Banco Walmart, as well as in the development of new business formats such as Bodega Aurrerá Express and Walmart Mexico’s e-commerce division. He also managed corporate crises related to product and reputational issues.

He has been honored by the governments of Brazil and Chile, and has served as President of the Mexico-Portugal Committee and Vice President of the Mexico-France Committee at COMCE.

Currently, he is President of OCA Reputación, a consulting firm dedicated to building, protecting, and restoring corporate reputations.

As an academic, Antonio has been a researcher at El Colegio de México and has taught courses on Corporate Communications and Public Relations in the Master’s program in Communication at Universidad Iberoamericana. His opinion columns on reputation, politics, and public diplomacy have been published in outlets such as Expansión, Forbes,and El Financiero, while his views on Mexican politics and U.S.-Mexico relations have been featured in international media such as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Financial Times.

He has also served on the boards of civil society organizations including World Vision Mexico, the Mexican Association of Communicators (AMCO), Global Sustainability, and the University of California Alliance.
