Specialized in non-violent communication, collaborative resolution of conflicts, conducting and facilitating dialogue processes. Among her most recent achievements in this arena are her participation in que team who elaborated and implemented the Protocol for Attention to Cases of Gender Violence of UNAM (Mexico’s Autonomous National University), which, since 2016, has tended to more than 950 of said cases.

Also, at UNAM, from the Office of the General Lawyer, Alejandra designed the alternative conflict resolution system with which this institution joined the more than 400 universities in the world that use these methodologies of constructive and respectful, equitable dialogue, based on restorative justice, as a complement of the traditional disciplinary measures used to broach these types of situations.

She obtained her PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and her bachelor’s degree in political sciences by ITAM in Mexico, where she has been a professor. She also teaches in the Specialization in Bargaining and Managing Political and Social Conflicts of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of UNAM, at the CIDE and the School of Public Administration in Mexico City. Four years ago, she started the process to be certified as a mentor at the Center for Non-Violent Communication.
